The Washing Machine Song

When our clothes get dirty,
we use a washing machine!
And we add a little soap,
to help them get clean!

Our pants go up and down,
our shirts go side to side,
our socks to loop-de-loop,
like a rollercoaster ride!

Our clothes swish around,
and they wiggle just so,
then they spin, spin, spin,
like a soapy rainbow!

This song came from a need to have another scarf song that would work little one’s listening and gross motor skills. The idea of treating the scarf like a piece of clothing that’s swirling inside a washing machine seemed fun, and it’s been a hit in storytime (caregivers absolutely love it!).

It’s a little unique because it’s an original song that was written in both languages simultaneously, which was a fun puzzle to figure out!
